Edmonton Public Schools has been piloting secure exams on Chromebooks for two years, developing a process and facility for schools to manage secure exams using Google Classroom and Google Docs. Take a look at our district setup process, School Lead Proctor and student user interfaces, tool for school-level changing of exam account passwords, and lessons learned along the way as we expand this opportunity to meet the secure exam needs of over 200 schools in a district whose primary student devices are Chromebooks and where classroom teachers' comfort with adoption of emerging technologies varies. What began as a stop-gap measure for writing provincial exams has turned into a great classroom tool not just for writing tests, but also for providing yet another reason for teachers to jump aboard using technology to support teaching and learning in today's increasingly student-centred classrooms. Come hear our story, join the conversation, and leave with strategies that can help bring this vision to life in your schools.
