There is a new frontier in technology and it is fuelled by data. Every day, new startups and products arrive that bring a new spin on data and leverage it to create new services and insights. As organizations amass more and more data, the question becomes what to do with that data and how to extract maximum value. To help our community and stakeholders explore this frontier, Cybera formed a data science team, with a goal to build up its expertise, share its knowledge and catalyze adoption. To this end, we have engaged government, startups, and school districts in short proof of concept projects, gaining insights and learning along the way. In this session, we will share our experience of how we organised our team, our tools, and our analyses in order to maximize reproducibility and transferability. We will describe projects applicable to the K-12 sector, including data science tools made available to any interested students or staff. Finally, we invite any schools interested in exploring this space with Cybera to contact us to brainstorm ideas.
