In any organization, the weakest link in data security is human behavior. To ensure your institution stays secure, everyone who accesses the network must be practicing cyber safe skills not just at work but at home as well. An effective cyber security awareness program doesn't just educate but changes behavior. Learn the basic principles of behavior change and how to employ them in a cyber security awareness program. Leave the session with a roadmap for implementing the program and a list of the biggest mistakes made.

Over twenty years ago, Bernadette started out thinking she could enrich young minds and bodies as a physical education teacher. That aspiration was short lived when the reality of teaching junior and senior high students hit her. She was rescued by a job offer to teach corporate types how to use PCs and Macs. She has been teaching in IT ever since. Currently she is the IT Security Training Analyst at Mount Royal University responsible for the campus wide cyber security awareness program as well as developing training programs for special projects.  Her programs focus on creating lasting behavioral change by taking complex concepts and breaking them down into simple, easy to implement steps
