Creating digital math and science used to be a difficult process. It can be complicated to type notation and frustrating for students and teachers alike. We will focus on simplifying this process using EquatIO and Google Classroom, enhancing ways students can respond to math and science prompts and problems digitally and collaboratively within Google's G Suite and increasing feedback response.
We will focus on using EquatIO and other apps to create digital math and scienc in Google's GSuite and Google Classroom to empower students to collaborate and create responses in today's digital classroom. Participants will walk away with a variety of use cases that they can integrate immediately.
Using the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework we will discuss how to integrate the preferred method of creating and consuming math and science for all learners, whether it is speech input, predictive typing, or handwriting. We will also showcase how to use accessible technology tools to empower students to communicate their thought process. Computational thinking and students exploring their thought process through the scientific method are direct extensions of communication and core to the skills we want students to develop. We want to help teachers transition their classroom to a digital environment in order to increase their students' engagement and enhancing student learning all while decreasing teacher feedback response time!
